Received automated call after attempting to make a payment with my card which was refused. Automated voicemail left this number to call. This number is for the Fraud line call centre in Sunderland. I was wary at first about giving details and voiced this but service advisor said if worried not legit to call number on the back of my card and will be put through to them (not pressured into giving any security info at all). This is another insurance about recent car accident cold calling and had enough from this company. The number does not accept returns calls
SCAM - claiming that a transaction from outside the UK had been identified on my account and that they wanted to verify the transaction. No such activity on my accounts and no other channel of communication from my bank.
SPAM: Said they were from Beneficial, calling to do a market survey. Had a very old address and when I said it was wrong, they tried to get me to give them my new one. Hung up when I refused.

Got this call today so looked it up on this site. One thing though - if it s clear pretty quickly that it s a cold caller that you don t want to speak to, just say "no" and put the phone down. No need for a polite conversation. No need for "no thank you very much". Just put the phone down. They are being extremely rude by intruding into your day so you allowed to be rude back by just hanging up straight away. Much easier for you.
Fraud claim to be from bank security about transactions on amazon. Message left at time I was in bank dealing with business number allocated by BT to North Tyneside. Come on BT stoop this misuse of numbers or BBC fraud section will be informed and asked to investigate

Accidentally clicked their ad when trying to find Direct Line on the net. Realised half way through completing their form so closed the browser. 10 mins later phone call received. I hadn t even pressed submit!! Anyway, number blocked, won t be bothered by these chancers again.
