They confirmed to me that they HADN’T tried to get into contact with me and this number ISN’T on their system

A call from Carphone warehouse, using a LOCAL code - ie - 01324 trying to deceive you into thinking it s a local call. You answer, and it s OBVIOUSLY a CALL Centre (by all the noise in the background) and on questioning the guy, is clearly NOT in the Falkirk area. This type of local call is being used more and more.

SCAM Saying they are calling from virgin media, about our slow Internet router. They will proceed to ask you to download a software on your pc and then steal any banking details and passwords. We end up having 10 of these calls a day, it's so frustrating. I end up laughing and saying some choice words or going along pretending I'm doing what they are asking. When I say I'm not with virgin media they switch and say they are an it department for all Internet providers. Do not fall for this!!!

If leave till my ansaphone kicks in, get automated message making out that I've rung them. Marking them as dangerous and annoying.
The calls are not from Manchester; the scammers cam spoof any number they like.

There were no less than five calls from this number while I was out. I did not need to be told it was the criminals pestering me again as I have had so many of them. However it was confirmed next day when a call came from a slightly different number, 01614357985. Other sites informed me a large number of people had been called similarly.
