SCAM / SPAM Told me there were BT OpenReach internet problems and that they don't normally call but needed to on this occasion and could I please tell them which lights were blinking on my internet router. Absolute lot of rubbish. Told them they should live a better life and not lie to people. They hung up.

I was told they were from O2 and had an offer on for 30% off the next bill. I was being transferred to the bill department so put the phone down and straight away was called by another "fraudulent" number. I didn't answer.

SCAM / SPAM Missed the call, so called them back a minute later. Got a recorded message congratulating me on installing the Asterisk open source pbx, which is some kind of VOIP service for LINUX. Don't think my regular BT landline will know how that works...

Automated call allegedly from the NCA claiming my NI number was used for illegal activity and it is now suspended. The message then asks to press 1 to speak to a case officer to prevent my assets being seized, etc.
A recorded message threatening to cancel my national insurance number due to it being used in connection with “illegal activities”, and demanding that I press 1 to be connected to “an officer” to avoid being arrested. I ignored it, but the call could be very worrying to some people.
