These people are phoning me from 8.30am until late at night, asking if im me and going through security questions to verify who i am. I tell them ive already spoken to someone but i have to go through the same old crap four or five times a day. Indian female voice claiming to be from "my telephone preference service...." Stopped her at this point. Why on earth would someone representing my telephone preference service (presuming I had one) call me without checking whether I would accept their call. !!

Called re: a (fictional) car crash that my housemate was supposedly in (bill payer for the phone line). Only have his title and his last name. When asked when the accident happened they say 'in the last few years' and when asked for the address of the company they only say 'South West London'. When I said that we were registered with the Telphone Preference Service and the unsolicited call was illegal and could they add the number to their Do Not Call list, they hung up
Let go to voicemail. Half a recorded message from a machine, doesn't say who from - something about legal action and connecting to a 'concern department'. I can only assume this is spam and do not recommend calling back or pressing the buttons to connect if you do pick up.

This person claimed to be an officer calling from 'the HMRC' claiming that I had paid insufficient tax- revealed apparently after a 5 year audit (I owed £3999.99 allegedly). This wasn't true of course. DO NOT EVEN SPEAK TO THESE PEOPLE. Do not transfer ANY money. They will try and prove themselves by calling you back on a number that IS the HMRC number but this of course has been manufactured!
