BT Technical Department scam
Text Message claiming to be from DPD about a missed delivery, received at 05.01 on a Saturday morning. Nothing had been ordered from anywhere
Called 3 times in two days, 17 & 18 Aug 2015, about my computer. I said I was being harrassed and asked to speak to manager, and the speaker rang off.

Automated call to say my national Insurance number had been used and to press 1 to report this issue.
0171 was an old London code, along with 0181. They were replaced by 020 in year 2000.

Surely to goodness someone, somewhere, has got to put a stop to this. Who is paying for all these claims? Us, in our high insurance costs of course. It is pissing me off, big time. Stop phoning me - I was not hurt, but it is getting to the point where perhaps I should claim just to stop these calls. Two bleeding years I have been fending off these damned nuisance calls.

NEVER call unknown numbers back. If you do so, you may be calling a Premium Rate or International number which will incur a large charge on your bill.
SCAM / SPAM Phone call supposedly from BT stating that router had been hacked and asked to go to PC. When i asked for my BT account number the caller hung up.

Caller claimed she was from BT and that other people were using my internet line. She wanted me to test something using my computer. She knew one of my email addresses, but not the one provided by BT. She gave daft or evasive answers to my questions. This appears to be a scam with the aim of getting me to provide personal details or perhaps remote access to my computer.
This called with 2 other local numbers all withing a few hrs today, no messages left and no info on the net about them. i never have had calls to my landline ever and then 3 in one day. so be cautious about answering them. 01343554301

Missed call
Have had 4 phone calls this morning. 3 went dead when picked up. 1 was answer machine message about subscription to amazon and asked me to press 1 to cancel and 2 to discuss options. I put the phone down. Has anyone else had these calls?

Person called Jack Wells called my elderly parents and tried to sell them a plug in box to stop unwanted phone calls. He had the correct details for them and their address! He asked for all bank details, sort code, acc. number and a password. Luckily they are not that stupid!!

Yes this is HSBC. I have an account with them and this was my LOCAL branch calling to make sure I was aware of changes and to ensure I was using the acc correctly. Very pleasant lady and took 5mins of my time. No problem to report.

The people on the other end of this phone have confirmed by letter they are delivering me a phone on 23rd August 2012 and that my current phone will be switched off on 26th. I am now receiving phone calls telling me I am entitled to a free upgrade and cheaper phone rate. I have told them several times now over five days that this is already sorted and I am now still receiving phone calls. I had a call from this number this morning at 10.49 (approx) and a recorded message came which told me that my Visa card had been used by someone for £900. I didn't bother to listen to the whole message as it was obvious to me that it was a scam. Interestingly I waited a few minutes and then called the number back (which I don't usually bother to do) and a very nice lady answered who said that she ran a clinic. It became obvious that she was genuine and that the scammers had used her number.
Fraud - some indian call centre where there is a delay to connect. They were crank calling me all morning. Claim to be from sky and someone is trying to access my internet. Tried to get me to log on to some site and I know it was dodgy so hung up but they keep calling.
