Automated call with female voice for the 2nd time in 2 days. She claims to be from BT informing me of suspicious activity and that I risk disconnection (and I've had a few of these before from various other numbers). I'm not even with BT Internet, therefore it MUST be a SCAM!

Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. Similar numbers are reported as a telemarketing - sometimes energy companies. Did someone answer any number of this range? Is there any reason why companies use line with shared costs for just ringing you and left no message (other than scam...)? If this was a silent call for you, do not call back for any reason! Missed the first call from this number around lunchtime. Received a second call at 5:20pm the same day. Thought it was a recruitment agent so answered. Turned out to be an English chap claiming to want to speak to me about a car accident. He knew my full name and postal address. I told him there was no such accident and to remove my details from his database immediately. I then hung up. Something of a worry that he had so many of my personal details.

I was contacted by these people and when I pointed out that my number was registered with the TPS I was told this it was not a sales call but an advisory call! I have made a written complaint pointing out that they are breaking the Claims Management Regulation rules and that I will be reporting them to the Regulator. I have also reported them to the ICO.

This company uses various combinations of telephone number. I just let the answer phone kick in. If I recognise the voice I then answer, can have 6 -10 of this type of call a day. I do 1471 and keep a note of all the numbers and then check them out on Google.
