I called the Halifax on a safe number known to me to check out this number in question. They were not very helpful or interested, did say when they last called me, which didn't match these calls, so I said will they investigate this number and the reply was, Oh there are a lot of calls made making out they are from the Halifax, just use number on the back of your card. They cold call and never say who they want just press button 1 if available. No way! Where did they get number from and its a TPS number! We lucky have no debts so why do they call? Can they be fined under the new GDPR rules because they hold inaccurate data and use irresponsibly?

Answered the phone as the call was from 0117 Bristol code. I am waiting for an appointment to go for radiotherapy in Bristol so I was keen to answer the phone, but it went dead as I answered I then tried redial using 1471 option 3, as I was anxious but the number came up as I’ll obtainable so its obviously a spam call which was very annoying
