Came up as a Dereham number claiming to represent a legal firm and asking about an accident I've not had. When I argued with the girl (Liverpool accent) she said that with my attitude I'd receive a lot more similar calls! Sure enough in the next 5 minutes I got 2 more from completely different numbers, this time in Scotland so clearly they are scammers of some kind and the stupid cow was too daft to realise that her actions merely proved their status as scammers.

Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. Similar numbers are reported as a telemarketing - scam PPI calls mainly. Did someone answer any number of this range? The number 0800 862 0818 is genuine, but everyone should always consider if a number is spoofed - try to get them to tell you something about you that they know already. Eg if they ask for your email, tell them a fake one and see if they know it's fake. If they don't, they may not be genuine.
