I had a phone call from this number today (25/02/2022-17:17) (0161-520-1872 !!!) The person on the line asked for me by name. Which seem very odd to me. As this is a number that I did not know. This contact number is Business Energy Compare and telecommunications Group. They are a trusted and compliant company based in Morecambe, Lancashire registered with companies house and handle business energy services, including telecommunications
Automated call, said failure to respond would result in charges against me, gave me a case number, seemed to be to do with national insurance, wanted me to press one. I hung up.

SCAM - Claiming I ordered an iPhone 13 through Amazon, decided to play along. He requested that I put him on speaker phone so he could run through filling a form in. Asked for him to send it through email, he said I (as in myself) am not authorised for email, whatever that means. I queried again that I assume I will be notified through email, and for some reason continued to state I am not authorised. I can't believe the guy actually thought I would enter a random URL in to fill in a form, must be nuts!

Randomly called said she was from sky and said our internet is slow. Tried to get us to download and app called quick support. This app allows people to remotely access your phone. Very dangerous as the can get so many details this way. We questioned her and she hung up. Called back and metro express answered, Im guessing this number is used for numerous amounts of scams. Rang me twice. When I picked up they said it was from Curry’s PC world, saying they had a promotions for phones and asked what phone I was using now. I said I wasn’t interested, and they hung up without saying anything else. It was quite hard to hear as their environment was loud, sounded kind of like a call centre in India. I’m not a Curry’s shopper so I doubt the legitimacy of this, probably a scam.
I have been called several times yesterday back to back from firstly a London number twice, then twice from private number and this one today. They all start by saying am I ****** when I ask who they are they mumble something then ask me if I own or rent my property. The person who called today was female and I could actually understand what she said, except for the initial mumble. The first two London calls where listed as suspected spam, however, some of calls in this category have been bona fide.
