If i lift the receiver, a light flashes and the caller would then respond after a short delay. As i did not lift the receiver, the situation is easy to deal with: if the caller was serious, he would leave a message. Called number supposedly Microsoft Security, AVG security suit stopped attempt to login to infected website, (thought I was savvy enough to see the scams but nearly fell for it, thank goodness for AVG). Closed down ran full scan across whole of system, all clear system restart.
Message was in Chinese...2nd message received... in Chinese in 2 days.Third missed call and message left from different number...Said there was a message from Chinese embassy..please press 3 for further details then ended in another verbal message in Chinese..I see the first call originated from Manchester..as far as i know Chinese embassy is not in Manchester... L.O.L. Only connection i have with China is my smart phone was made and originated from there...

Appears to be a phishing scam. I got an ebay order confirmation for an item I did not order. This number was given for reporting fraudulent purchses. t sounds like an Indian caallcentre, and they attemted to get me to download Anydesk, in order to access my computer!!
