I answered the call as it came through as a local number. The 'kid' on the other end of the call stated he was calling from a company which sounded to me like 'RK' or 'RJ' and it was to do with my accident. I immediately informed him that o had not been involved in an accident (something I am sick of telling people). I asked where he had gotten the details from and the amateur was clearly reading from a script as there was a slight sound of shuffling and a hesitant voice then said 'it says here that...' and

Allegedly a company who had my details because I’d shown interest in trading!!! Total lies .....never done anything like that. The woman was getting irate because I repeatedly said I wasn’t interested. In the end I told her I was ending the call. I hate being rude to these people but sometimes you just want to tell them to eff off and leave you alone. They are persistent and I feel dangerous to certain members of the public who are vulnerable and taken in by their rubbish.

If I did not authorise this transaction, press 1. There are innocent souls out there who will be drawn into giving their details over the phone. Trust me - I have had to support them while they tearfully called the police and apologised to me for being so silly.
