The person on the other end told me they were ringing to review my mortgage. When I told her I was uncomfortable discussing it over the phone, she got aggressive and rude. She told me my husband had requested a callback which I knew was a lie because he doesn t deal with this stuff over the net or phone!! when I said that he wouldn t have requested a callback she was really abusive and before she could hang up I told her how rude she was!! Fuming!
Weird one, I got a sales call from a Liverpool number to my mobile who seemed just as confused as I was as they swore they actually dialled this number (01517060251). Have absolutely no idea which part of it is a scam. It's definitely weird. Googled the number and nothing came up.

Same happened to me. Rung at 10:20 . A distorted noise and then hung up.
Called me at least 20 times not answered any will now report the number to ofcom

SPAM: I received two consecutive missed calls from this number which were minute apart. Phone rang once and ended. Same number called again which only rang once again. Gent. ("Spike" but sounded foreign) from Benefits UK said he wanted to ask some questions. I was expecting a call and needed to keep the line free. He hung up while I was politely explaining this, so I think the call is suspect!
A Google search suggests that the number, if genuine, belongs to a company called Steel Plus 1, based in Romford, Essex.

After doing an online insurance comparison on go compare, they call 2 or 3 time in quick succession until you answer. They are just following up your quotation, but if I do a comparison on line, it s because I don t want the hassle of talking to people like this on the phone. Ironically, they were the cheapest quote but it did put me off a little. I ve still got 2 days to decide and will probably go with them so they don t really need to be doing these "follow up" calls.
