These people have been calling me for weeks. I have told them that I am not the person they are asking for "Mrs Humphries" and asked them numerous times to take me off their list but still they call. As soon s they realise I am not the person they want they disconnect sometimes whilst I am mid sentence. Infuriating!

SCAM - On answer a strident recorded message tells you that "A criminal tax fraud case has been lodged against you". I didn't bother listening to the full message - I heard enough to know it was a pathetic criminal trying to scare people into handing them either personal data or money. The idea is to extort money from you and they will protect you online. I can see how some may be frightened and fall for this scam. So Be Warned And Don’t Respond.

Number called advising me that a HMRC fraud investigation had been opened about me to call them for more information, it sounds like an American Automated voice. I have had the exact message from different numbers before.
They phoned twice Fri 10/10/14. First call I answered but the line was dead i.e. Silent call. Second time I ignored in then 1471 said it was 01702 318818. Like "fed up" below when I rang it was a short message saying they were Independent Market Research then the call was cut off. Complained to FCO but they say there is nothing they can do at the moment.

PPI/Bank Charges claim company. Latest one is Endowment Policies. Aside from just hanging up, I find the best course of action with these guys is to just lie to them. Give them made-up details so they waste their time with fruitless nonsense. Tell them you paid PPI on a Swiss bank account with ?10m in funds given to you by a Nigerian prince. Keep calm and tell absurd lies, and this kind of call actually starts to be a lot of fun!
