SCAM Someone called “David” called trying to sell me a mobile phone contract. iPhone 13 pro max, 24 months with unlimited data, minutes and texts. For £40 a month. When enquired, came up with nonsense which made no sense. Asked for network provider, my name, and starting asking family names. Of course gave fake names and realised I knew they were scammers. Swearing dialogue commenced, said they were from Sri Lanka which seems nonsense. Accent sounded Indian. Called back on different number
SCAM may be connected to 01779 426939 and 02081335558 as part of Microsoft security scam. i was taken in by this on October 8th

Called me at a1049 on 6th October 2020. Saying inland revenue are chasing me for tax evasion and I should ring back on this number, definitely do not ring them. This is a hoax. Inland revenue do not make these types of calls. You will be charged at premium rates and be kept in the phone, while you get a huge bill for that call.
Claimed to be BT about my internet.

Automated message. Said they were Amazon informing me of a payment that I had made and if I hadn't made it I should press 1. Sounded dodgy but not sure.
Also claimed to be from Amazon. I told them to send me an email. English was barely understandable. Probably a scam.

"Silent call". However having just had a scam call from 0233322982 and seeing reports from numbers like 02033322972 it seems this is one of a list of numbers used for neferious purposes.

Amy from Amazon (with an Indian accent and obviously from a call centre) said that there had been purchases of gift cards from my Amazon account and was it me who had made them? I said I would not respond to a call centre phone call and hung up. Checked my Amazon account and there were no recent transactions, so obviously a scam.

A call from Carphone warehouse, using a LOCAL code - ie - 01324 trying to deceive you into thinking it s a local call. You answer, and it s OBVIOUSLY a CALL Centre (by all the noise in the background) and on questioning the guy, is clearly NOT in the Falkirk area. This type of local call is being used more and more.

Number called me and asked me to confirm personal details, which they clearly had. Asked me random questions regarding whether I owned a dog, how much I earned etc, but when I told him I wasn t going to continue to answer his questions and put the phone down, he immediately called back. If this was NOT you call us on 03309124638” I called Virgin money directly using their actual number from the back of my bank card to report it, it’s definitely a scam.

Dropped what I was doing & raced downstairs to answer persistent call.
