A recorded voice indicates an outstanding tax issue. Asking you to press 1 to be connected. Failure to do so will result in a warrant for your arrest (on the grounds of tax fraud) being issued. Her Majesty's Inspector of taxes would not phone if there was an issue. They would write to you. They know your address, but fraudsters and scammers like this do not. Do not press to accept the call. if you do they will know the number is in use an probably sell your number on to more scammers.

This number belongs to an adult male... He has been contacting my eleven year old daughter for a period of (almost) three months... I don't have all the details yet but I do know that my daughter is not the only victim of this predator. SCAM A female agent called me with Mobile Phone = 07428693956 at 12:22 pm identifying themselves as BT Customer Services and Security. They said their engineer was working on the line and detected an extra IP address registered at my location. Now BT customer services never ring outbound on a mobile, plus IP addresses are allotted by the router and not by the user. Got a call from an asian sounding bloke at 08:00 this morning claimimg he was from the Monistry of Justice and that I was due a £6251 from overpayment in fees to my bank. Said I would get the cheque from a courier, David French, with a Job ID of D102. The reference for the refund was 32568, which was most important. One of their advisors would call me back within an hour. Googled the MofJ and they work out of LONDON not MANCHESTER. Well, I ve now waited 1 1/2 hours and no call back, so I guess I m not getti

Fraud - Smarmy British guy claimed to be a 'local energy adviser', and said "How are you today? I said "I'm sick of unsolicited calls. Please take my number off your list and don't call again", then hung up. Another person reports on a different website that same number rang them this morning too, but claiming to be a 'local' loft insulation company, yet it's a Bournemouth code and they don't live there! BEWARE! Obviously a scam of some kind. Happened 11.25am on 9th November 2021.
