These type of companies work from a dialling system where numbers are selected at random. They say they are calling about a recent accident on the off chance that the 1 in a million (slightly exaggerated) people they call say they have been in one. have just received a call from this number to our landline. Today, the american accented voice was identified as 'Shirley' professing to be from our internet provider and saying that our computer had been 'compromised' from various countries and they needed to access our router to 'sort the problem'. At that point I ended the call and added the number to our list of blocked callers.
