I called the help line 0800 085 095, of Santander my mortgage provider from my landline to make enquiries about the final payment of my mortgage. I was transferred to another line where it was suggested that I could make the final payment immediately by cards associated with my account. However the respondent was only able to give me the last 4 figures of two cards (one of which is discontinued) and asked me to enter the complete number via my keypad. Spoke to a lady who informed me that I had popped up on their system as being owed money regarding PPI. She didn't skip a beat before moving straight on to ask if I had had been in any debt management plans or made bankrupt etc. Explained that I was not willing to give personal information and that I had already claimed my PPI back. She asked if I had received less than £1200 as that would be why I had appeared on their system. I informed her that we both knew that was rubbish and just marketing spiel
