SCAMMERS. I have just been called by them. They knew who to ask for, but it was an unsolicited call "checking my details" to see if they were up to date. The man with a foreign accent (I know that doesn't mean anything necessarily) seemed unconfident and not quite right somehow. It was unlike any bank call I have ever received. When I said I would prefer not to discuss anything with him over the phone due to extensive scamming he said he would send me a letter. I agree with previous comments. This is a scam

As with previous comments, I had a call from an Indian gentleman on 002389001076 and had been chosen at random - the UK government does not do this type of thing so I knew it was a scam. Anyway, I had a little time to kill so let him talk on a little whilst doing the crossword, throwing in the odd "yes" and "I see". this number called claiming to be government official that had details that bank interest had not been applied accurately so they wanted to pay this back via cheque the female knew my name date of birth and full address asked if i was able towalk to the bank i responded that i would call the bank myself she hung up. another scam against people of a certain age trying to get bank details BEWARE!!!
