Then launched into a big spiel about something or other, not anything relevant to me anyway given that I wasn't the person she asked to speak to. Told her I was hanging up and she was still talking away as the phone went down!

Assume from previous post that this is a telemarket company. I no longer pick up the phone until I hear a familiar voice or recognise the caller as genuine; then do 1471; then a ph. no. enquiry site. My friends have got used to this and it saves more aggravation.

say they are from SSE and need some info regarding the account as their computers have crashed. contacted SSE direct they say this number is nothing to do with them so dont give them ANY info!
They did not sound like they were in an office, the phrase was "Oh yeah, I called you about claiming money back from PPI, you done that yet?" Ironically I do need to claim some back but the unprofessional-ism scared me off of them.
