Claimed to be calling on behalf of my energy company saying they would give me a better deal at renewal. Still two years to run on contract so person obviously misleading me. No sense why my energy company would call now to give a better deal starting in two years time! They were not calling from my energy company, according to my energy broker.

This is a company called Secure Homecare Ltd, trading as 247 Assist. They purport to provide homecare services such as pendant alarms etc. Once they have an elderly persons phone number they ring regularly, approxiately once every 2 months and sell a further item - usually in the region of about £135- £150.00. We were able to obtain a refund for the last one sold completely unecessarily to my mother - it took about a month to get a refund. We asked them to ensure that they removed details from their databas

There are some dodgy people going around London fixing stickers to peoples doorbells and front doors that say "24/7 LOCKSMITH 07379 253 353". There have been news reports that these type of stickers are used by criminals to identify which properties can later be burgled. This may or may not be the case with these stickers but any locksmith that advertises by sticking stickers on other peoples property without permission, are untrustworthy in my book.
