I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Re The failed bank payment, the bank itself stopped this money and when I spoke to my bank it was decided that the £149 seemed high for an anti viral program and there was a possibility of fraud. SCAM / SPAM - Answered the call and got a ringing tone as if I had made the call. Someone with Northern accent asked me about Life Insurance, but I think it was pre-recorded. I responded, but didn't get an answer. Then it occured to me that, due to the ringing tone, they might somehow have engineered a way for me to be paying for the call so I hung up and blocked the number.
Tom or Chris? Phoning from Leeds saying he would be in Brighton area next week cleaning gutters (really?!) and wondered..... Told him our gutters all fine and blocked number.

This number called my elderly mums number, I answered, they said it was something to do with Windows then mentioned computer, I told them not to ring this number again that there was no computer at the property and to remove our number from their database, I was rudely informed that if they were to do that we would be charged, and they could ring as many times as they wished.

This is a fake number used by scammers to try to get personal information about you. They sound very official and scary, suggesting legal action against you. I inadvertently provided them with my name, National Insurance number and name of bank before I realised that it was a phishing attempt. The caller spoke with a slightly American accent. I tried to call the number back, but it's invalid.
