Had a message left on home telephone asking me to call 01613541022 regarding serious law suit relating to HM Revenue and Customs. Rang this morning and man answered by saying Hello not company name. I gave him my telephone number and he had my name. Said they had looked at the tax from 2006-2016 and owed £1,498. I needed to pay within the hour or a lawsuit would be actioned against me. 'Jane calling from British Gas' (yeah, right!). She asked if I was Mrs (my wife), then was I still using British gas or Southern Electric. 'No'.'Do you have E.on or (another)?' 'No - why do you want to know?' She asked what I had said and when I repeated it she hung up. Obviously their script doesn't run to answering that question!

Just received a call from this number. Answered it, as I wondered who in San Antonio, Texas would be calling me. A very English lady in a recorded message said she was calling about PPI(!) Utter time wasters.

This is a SCAM. Most domestic appliance insurances are D&G. These scammers get lucky, more often than not. They got lucky with me, initially, until they asked me to confirm my bank account direct debit details. You already have that on file, don?t you? Yes, but ... please tell us again. Yeah, right!
