I ve had three calls today from 02088523462 five yesterday, every time trying to convince me that they are "Microsoft technical" that my computer is "sending them errors". I know this is bs and decided today to have a nice long conversation with them about my background in networks engineering and how I know it is bs, but I understand that the guy on the other line is only doing his job and reading a script and that if he doesn t get abusive with me we should be able to resolve this. The person calling from this number was clearly ringing from a call centre and had an Asian name which I didn t catch. He stated that the company name was MTA Solicitors and that he was calling about a recent car accident. This is clearly a scam call as I have not had a car accident.
This number along with the whole range of 011582400xx is used for financial call centres, mostly calling in the name of Red Star Finance - check them at https://www.redstarfm.com/ (their free contact number is 08000 155 144) or directly MBNA - check them here https://www.mbna.co.uk/, credit card company... Nuisance for me, blocking the range - have been using the ShouldIAnswer mobile application from these pages, works fine, can stop such calls and also a range of numbers (very usefull for call centres). got a text message from this number pretending to be someones mum, i have not replied but unsure if its a accidental text or a possible scam. (at the moment im rating it as neutral but it could lead to be dangerous so watchout)
Fraud 07793889491 Scam pre-recorded voice call pretending to be from Mobile Service Provider (does not mention which one) regarding service termination due to unpaid bills. Obviously a complete SCAM again, probably of Indian origin, as they are using robotic voice pre-recording. Definitely should be BLOCKED and REPORTED.
