SCAM - pretend to be Airbnb wanting a confirmation payment working as part of a group advertising false flats via Facebook marketplace for rent to be booked through Airbnb for a couple of months before going onto a rental agreement with the ‘host’ - once money is paid they say that someone from air bnb will be in touch to hand over keys and sign agreements etc but never hear from them again.

SCAM - phoned with recorded message about my NI being used fraudulently, then please hold for an officer.....then a foreign man answered said he is from the national fraud division...after me asking him a couple of pinpoint questions he hung up. Turns out the number is a vodafone mobile number.

I am registered with TPS and received an incoming call. The number is now blocked on my mobile, but they will simply change the incoming number to something else in a month or so. My list of blocked numbers is now around 40, a lot of those being duplicated by the same companies. They need to be regulated against, but when you can visit sites that provide a service telling you if a mobile phone is switched on or not (meaning that the mobile operators are selling this information) what hope do we have!?

I have BT guardian which asks callers to announce who they are before I answer. Most sales calls hang up at that point, this one didn't. Lovely lady explained that I could have a half hour appointment to check energy efficiency of my home and advise of any improvements. I made the appointment. Very polite young man called Adam arrived, checked the loft and roof, looked around, discussed my energy payment per month. The information given was useful, nothing to sign, no sales pitch. I would have no worries.

So no idea as to why Hastings Direct are calling me & how the heck they got my phone number!! So searched the number & got a lot of responses saying it s marketing, untrustworthy & not to respond! SCAM Fake mobile contract facilitator, I didn't go this far because I'm not an idiot but they will "accept" your application for a mobile phone contract and will request a deposit and the first month upfront, to then not send your device but still take monthly payments.
