One ring & hangs up. Assumed like others expensive to call back!

The call from this number was supposedly from BT saying my landline was to be cut off. I checked with my provider who confirmed this was a scam call as none of my service is from BT. My provider has referred the number to their specialist department for investigation.

Telepest. People from India claiming to do election research on behalf of something called NQR, and they keep ringing repeatedly - probably a scam that starts by pretending to be a survey. They keep ringing even if you tell them not to.

As in the other comment I was told to ring 01642850850 - this is useless. It asks you to give the name of the person and offers no other option. Since I don t know who called I was at a dead end

SCAM/SPAM. I was called on the 26/08/20 by this number. The caller said they were from SKY (my TV, telephone and broadband provider). He informed me that he was ringing to test my modem and improve its performance. He asked me to type a few commands which included the word “SKY”. He then asked me to permit remote access. Company called my ADHD sons mobile whilst I was out and he answered loads of health questions, including his age and his address. Shouldn t be allowed. He now knows not to even answer his phone unless he knows the number. Annoyed at this.

This number called me today, said she was calling from the Nationwide Building Society. The female Indian caller knew my name, told me my postcode and asked me to confirm if it was correct. I told her I don t have an account with Nationwide and that she s a scammer after my personal details.... then hung up on her haha!
