"Virgin Media Technical Support", telling me that there was an infection on my router, tried to get me to run the ASSOC command - this is a well-known introduction for a scammer to convince his mark that there is a computer problem. In fact, ASSOC will do nothing useful at all - they will then want you to install a remote control program so they can "fix" your computer, whereas what will happen is that they will steal your details, banking etc., and/or install ransomware which locks you out of your computer
