SCAM. Knew that I lived outside the UK, had my name and had my foreign mobile number. Called to say that they were helping Brits who lived outside the UK who may have been mis-sold financial products. I told them my partner worked for the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and the guy laughed and said "ah, probably not for you then". Polite enough but clearly the new type of "have you been mis-sold PPI" calls. Potentially a scam.

I asked him why no security? He said he was regulated by OFCOM and not allowed to take any personal details. I Played them at their own game. After falling victim to their sleazy call I paid them £358 via C/card. After several months hearing sweet FA. I called my c/card company to complain. After just two months the c/card company refunded me the whole amount. Oh bye the way they achieved this by applying to Scarletts bank account for the refund. The law says if they dont oppose the action by the credit card company they themselves are credited in full (£358) So morally speaking the credit card don t suffer
