Yet another silent call from the same area code - 0203675 xxxx keeps calling and rings off if answered, doesn't leave any message if not. Clearly some sort of scam.

never said anything

Trying to con you into giving payment details by saying your washing machine cover is due to run out and they are doing the renewal insurance cover. As soon as I said surely there would be a charge and he said yes, i said well I dont want to pay for anything, he hung up. He had my full name and address and telephone number.

This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with Three Mobile, could be also calling in the name of another telco operator... Just a call centre.

Could hear people talking in the background but no one spoke to me on the phone

'Jane calling from British Gas' (yeah, right!). She asked if I was Mrs (my wife), then was I still using British gas or Southern Electric. 'No'.'Do you have E.on or (another)?' 'No - why do you want to know?' She asked what I had said and when I repeated it she hung up. Obviously their script doesn't run to answering that question!

rubbish again

Called, asked my name and hung up? Called back twice, no answer , then answered as holiday sickness helpline - had I been on an all inclusive holiday day?

SCAM / SPAM 01731 area code does not exist in the uk, so its a scammer spoofing their number. suggest you block this number and report it to Ofcom
