'I've been advised you've been involved in a car accident, is that right?'
Foreign man (Asian?) said my name. I asked for his name and what he wanted. He said Martin and it was about my computer conection. My reply was:- So you're a scammer, and I'll report you. He rang off and I blocked the number.
They said they were HMRC and would take legal action on a generated voice.

I never take out maintenance contracts on anything as a matter of principle, as it generally works out cheaper to pay as you go, so I know this isn't true. Called March 10 2922. Domestic appliance insurance scam. Didn't wait for all the details. Typical asian voice saying insurance was running out. Normally they offer to renew at a discount if you give them your card details. NEVER give out personal details or bank details to anyone who phones you. If in doubt find the phone number you want from an independent source and phone them.

I have been telephoned this afternoon – apparently by EE – to tell me that I was getting a 45% discount on my bill for the next year? I was then passed on to a supervisor to confirm my email address – which I did. They then said that they would email me and I would need to change the password to EEdefault19: at this point I told the caller I would hang-up.
SCAM: pretended to be from Virgin Media, seemed affronted I asked for the name attached to the account, then hung up.

It says this is Clearanswer, a marketing company and one of BTs partners.....comments from the general public seem to suggest otherwise. A very foreign voice suggested my BT contract was coming to an end. I don’t discuss new contracts with a cold caller. When I said it wasn’t due to be renegotiated she hung up...not the sort of thing a genuine person would do.
