Received call at 8.35 am on a Saturday when I was still asleep. No sound at other end when I answered. I have now blocked the number on my phone having read this site. Further Private call at 09.15. Caller (male) said hello then when I responded did not speak. Could be connected? I am not well at this time and this is annoying.

String them along for a while and asked eventually for him to give me my BT account number to prove he was from BT. Just talked me down saying it was my choice to believe him or not and eventually he hung up.

I had a call from this number today with the typical "you have a problem with your router "Maam" I let them chat on for a while until they asked me to log in on my computer. I googled the number and it says it is BT Bereavement Dept !! I rang the number back and spoke to a lovely lady at BT and after telling her what had happened she assured me it was not BT and that BT were aware that this number has been cloned by scammers and are working on it.
