This is a SCAM number: Female voice says HMRC are launching a lawsuit against you and to press one to talk to a case officer. HMRC do not use recorded calls from mobile numbers: they write. These scammers try to get you to pay them. Block it!

This number called today and I didn t have time to Google it before answering. Said they were from American Express, only asked for half my postcode and they knew the type of card I held and how long I have had it. Missed call received.Called back and it was Appliances Direct regarding a freezer I bought.Confirmed order details with me and offered me the insurance at £3.99 a month.Very polite member of staff and extremely helpful.Completely safe number.

I didn't answer, but called back with my number witheld. It's a company called 'smart compare'.

A few minutes after my last nuisance call, which was from the Talk Talk impersonators, I got this one - from the p.p.i. pests using a number they had not used for me before. Only a couple of days ago their recorded message was saying it was their final attempt to contact me, but telling lies is habitual for them. I estimate I have had a hundred calls from these people. I look forward to the day they are prosecuted. They are making money out of people s naivety so I hope they get fined heavily.

Girl with indistinct squeaky voice ... eventually ... poor line but could make out "... accident that was not your fault ..."
