I am the first to comment but I notice I m the 176th person who has tried to find out of this is a dodgy scam/marketing call. I would say the chances are quite high that it is. Let your telephone do the work. If there is no voicemail left then there is no urgency to speak with them!

Silent call Another UK number called yesterday (I'm in NL) and as I have a couple business contacts there, I decided to pick up but it's most likely... spam?
Recorded voice message of a well spoken elderly gentlemen saying the call was from National Crime Agency, my national insurance number is linked to multiple crimes and I should press 1 to speak to an officer immediately. Clearly a bogus call, I doubt the National Crime Agency would ring from a mobile number. No idea what they are up to but nothing legal I dare say.

Phone rang at approx 7.30pm Sat 25 Oct 2014. Answered and said "Hello". An Asian woman asked for me by name, but there was a lot of noise in the background so immediately made me think that this was wrong. If it was a reputable company (who should still be not allowed to make cold calls) it would be silent. I didn t confirm my name but asked who the company was. The criminals started early today, making this call om an invented number at just after 8 a.m. Nobody spoke but they did not have to. Responding to these calls - which of late have consisted of recorded messages saying ny broadband is going to be disconnected - would be dangerous.

The guy I m working with also got a call from this number a couple of days ago, how have they got hold of both our numbers as we have no connection apart from we are working at the same house at the moment, he also lives in Southampton so isn t even local and not on any local databases???

This number has just called the home phone and spoken to my partner. My partner had filled out some online surveys recently which was about gaining free samples etc. This was mentioned over the call and then offered him £20 worth of petrol or diesel vouchers, but would need his bank details over the phone to pay for postage. My partner was chatted to the person right up until this point... then stated with all due respect, as much as I would love the vouchers, I never have or will give my bank details out
