I had somebody come to the house and quote me on new windows. They said that they were doing a discount because of some government scheme but after quoting me a ridiculous price the salesman informed me that the discount was suddenly going to run out and that I had about 24 hours to agree to buy the windows. The person who came to the house was very polite but the company don t have a good reputation, and the prices are ridiculous, I d recommend not answering.

Not sure if it is a scam, but concerned they knew my name, and what domestic appliances I have. We recently cancelled insurance with Domestic and General, so wondering if they have sold on our details. Told them I don't need their insurance as would by new if beyond economic repair, and the caller seemed surprised that I could fix a recent washing machine problem myself. Asian type voice called about our computer - surprise surprise. We kept her talking for almost 3 minutes pretending we were grateful for her help. When asked what we could see on the screen (we didn t switch it on) we used the well used phrase beware Asians asking about your computer . She promptly ended the call.
