My daughter got stung for £55 for a call to HMRC. Its clearly not the HMRC they would never be allowed to charge extortionate telephone rates and I've phoned them on a number of occasions without charge. I suspect its a scam number that then redirects to the HMRC. DO NOT PHONE THEM - look on your last tax bill as the HMRC website doesn't make it easy to find a number to call.
I have had several calls from this number and when i answer it s someone claiming to be from Vanquis Bank. The caller is usually from outside of the UK so i immediatley disconnect the call.
