This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. Received an automated message purporting to be from Barclays saying there had been attempted fraudulent activity on my old Barclaycard and that they would text me details. This they did, saying that they would call me from 01628778331. The scammers have ways of making a call appear to come from a genuine number. The call appeared to come from this number and they asked for my new card number and DoB. After the call was finished, I thought about it and called the Barclay's Customer Service number on the back

Some bloke calling himslef Chris claiming to be an energy consultant working in my local area. When I asked him why he wasn't calling from a local number he said a few words and ended the call. Local numbers in my area all start with 0161.
