I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. There was a recorded announcement of two misuses of my credit card (one of them Tesco). No mention of who was calling. A recorded announcement asked me to "press 2 and hold" to speak to customer service. A male voice with a strong foreign accent then asked me for my personal details. When asked what bank he was from the phone went dead.
I too just got a call from this number (From Preston Lancs.)and as soon as I answered the call after 2 rings they put the phone down!! Odd!!!

They have called twice left message once and sent me two emails concerning a debt for plusnet. I contacted plusnet who confirmed no outstanding debt and that this was a scam.
I've been getting at least 2 calls a day from these numbers that are one digit less than UK mobile numbers. I have let them all ring off, then blocked them but just get slightly different ones every day. Very annoying.
