I am the first to comment but I notice I m the 176th person who has tried to find out of this is a dodgy scam/marketing call. I would say the chances are quite high that it is. Let your telephone do the work. If there is no voicemail left then there is no urgency to speak with them!

Not sure if it is a scam, but concerned they knew my name, and what domestic appliances I have. We recently cancelled insurance with Domestic and General, so wondering if they have sold on our details. Told them I don't need their insurance as would by new if beyond economic repair, and the caller seemed surprised that I could fix a recent washing machine problem myself. I had somebody come to the house and quote me on new windows. They said that they were doing a discount because of some government scheme but after quoting me a ridiculous price the salesman informed me that the discount was suddenly going to run out and that I had about 24 hours to agree to buy the windows. The person who came to the house was very polite but the company don t have a good reputation, and the prices are ridiculous, I d recommend not answering.

Indian/Pakistani ? man called to say my BT service Lloyds Bank Direct Debit needed verifying, I played along and gave false numbers on my debit card (to see how far they wished to go), they already new my name , address, phone number. Well, actually I don't bank at Lloyds anyway!, they then asked for my DOB, so I gave a false one of course.
