Crazy scam with an Asian guy trying to bamboozle me with tech-speak. Told me my ip address had been made public and should be switched back to private. I asked him to confirm my IP address 'so I could be sure we were talking about the same connection'. He said no one had my IP address. I asked him for a phone number to call back on and he hung up. Total scam - I don't even have BT broadband.

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 2036086xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with telemarketing calls, surveys, sometimes also accident chasers - insurance and PPI claims. Someone keeps calling me from this number (01702785185). How did they get my number and why are they calling me.
This number seems to be used by some call centre - I can see very similar numbers reported, all the same range 011326500xx just with last digits different, which is a common thing - they use a range of similar numbers. They are reported with different scope, but mostly call centres work for multiple clients. I tried to call the number back but no luck, number not in service - probably one-way gateway of the call centre not allowing inbound calls so you are not able to call them back.
