It's the tedious call back scam where naive people (marks) call back thinking that it's a local/national number when, in fact, the return call is redirected to a premium rate number without the mark's knowledge. Works well with the drunk, those on drugs, the vulnerable and Boris voters.

SPAM: I received two consecutive missed calls from this number which were minute apart. Phone rang once and ended. Same number called again which only rang once again. Allegedly a company who had my details because I’d shown interest in trading!!! Total lies .....never done anything like that. The woman was getting irate because I repeatedly said I wasn’t interested. In the end I told her I was ending the call. I hate being rude to these people but sometimes you just want to tell them to eff off and leave you alone. They are persistent and I feel dangerous to certain members of the public who are vulnerable and taken in by their rubbish.

SCAM - OFCOM Internet Conection Called pretending to be OFCOM with a convincing sounding recorded message from a very nice lady that my internet connection had been hacked and would terminate in 24hrs. Then requested I press "1" to resolve the situation. Absolute scam - the number is local to Solihull and is unobtainable if dialled. Delete and block immediately !!!

Phone rang at approx 7.30pm Sat 25 Oct 2014. Answered and said "Hello". An Asian woman asked for me by name, but there was a lot of noise in the background so immediately made me think that this was wrong. If it was a reputable company (who should still be not allowed to make cold calls) it would be silent. I didn t confirm my name but asked who the company was. Said he was called Jack from BT Business Head office and he could do me a better deal than by Local BT Business office. Jack, you seem to be the only person working for BT Business as you are the only person making these sales calls, for such a large business!!. I don't believe this is BT as you can see in other searches Jack seems to be the only person making these calls, probably to gain information about your business. He didn't get any from me. Possibly dangerous.
