Someone called Katey rang. She claimed she was calling from a company called Switch safer. She asked if my gas appliances were insured. I told her she was breaking the law by phoning me, as I was a member of TPS (telephone preference service. She said she had a filtering device that filtered out TPS members. She then asked if I had paid a £5 to TPS, because If I had not, she was within the law to phone me. TPS later told me that this was rubbish. There is no £5 charge. They are now taking legal action and

I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Re The failed bank payment, the bank itself stopped this money and when I spoke to my bank it was decided that the £149 seemed high for an anti viral program and there was a possibility of fraud. Seems to be a PPI claim company by the name of HA Advisory - the person spoke with a Northern accent (maybe Manchester, Leeds etc)
Number called saying they were from the security department of my bank. No bank name was given. apparently there were two transactions going through on my card, one for Amazon and another larger sum was an international money transfer. I was invited to press 1 to cancel the transactions or 2 to confirm. Naturally I did neither.
SCAM / SPAM Phishing call, pretending to be from HMRC. "Press one now, or you will be arrested shortly". Couldn't be bothered to mess with them further, and hung up. Reported to HMRC.
Had a feeling this was ADT, haven t confirmed it but the comments seem to strongly indicate ADT. On top of the 0161 code. Just rang now at 3.19 in the morning, about five to six rings before I d even got to it, and then stopped. Alarm not going off, and it is for our house so would like to know why they rang in the wee hours when we re sleeping.

Number belongs to an employee from Retro Consulting AKA Unique Client Solutions, a dodgy marketing company based in Nottingham & Sheffield who post misleading job adverts which make it look like you could be going into a good sales job with a career path when in fact it s commission only with no minimum wage.

Checked on Google and found this number rated highly in range of nuisance calls. Have been plagued with nuisance calls from various sources - most with withheld or unavailable numbers in spite of TPS. It is ironic that you have to pay to prevent these law-breakers.
