Chap with asian accent, calling from advantage at 17.55 hrs, he wanted me to confirm my name then answer questions, but then said I was under no obligation to do so (clearly), I said I would not answer any questions and said he was to not bother me again and I hung up. if this occurs again, I will not be so polite.

The calls are scams. They originate from Asia using spoofed numbers. Use your telephone provider's call-blocking service if they offer it.
Indian man, after giving an English name,says he is calling from BT Technical Dept.I know that there is no such Department within the BT organisation!!I said goodbye and put the phone down!! SCAM: First of all, an automated male voice saying ' Hello, Customer, an ipad has been added to your Amazon account'. The taped message was poorly recorded and there were several breaks and skips in it. It played 3 or 4 times continuously before I ended the call. I didn't wait for the end of the message. Expect a PPI or similar as they didn t leave a message and came up number unknown when I tried calling it back, therefore blocked it.
Following up the block of a (legitimate) high value card transaction. The caller supplied (limited) sensitive information and requested (limited) confirmation. Good f/u & welcome protection.
