Something about his tone and wording instantly set off alarms that this was a cold sales call, as we receive hundreds of them and I ve grown used to the language they use. I asked who was calling. He gave his name, but no more, so I asked what company he was calling from. He instantly got very defensive and accused me of interrogating him. A common thing - telemarketing mostly uses a range of similar numbers. This one is mostly reported with PPI, insurance marketing, RTA - accident chasers, sometimes called themselves "First Call Group" - just another big call centre.
