Called both my landline and my mobile on a Sunday evening. Clearly a Birmingham number. I know the university does fundraising drives amongst alumni but these calls stress not just a nuisance but very intrusive. I understand the Uni says it wants to improve the lot of students but given the vast fees students have to pay that really do not equate to what they are provided with, I think it's a joke, not to say insulting, chasing alumni for money in this devious manner. Currently in Thailand this number is pestering us and spoiling our holiday calling up to six times per day including silly hours such as 3 am We have no business with British Gas, never had anything to do with them. It must be a scam

TAXES / HMRC Claims to be an investigation into tax fraud. Obviously spam and potentially dangerous.
Fraud Received a message from this number stating it’s from Vodaphone and that ‘we are unable to process your latest payment. In order to avoid fees please update your information via...’ then it gave a link to an https address (looked like Vodaphone but too much else to be valid, I think). I haven’t progressed this, I don’t have anything outstanding with Vodaphone, but just be aware. I will be forwarding this to Vodaphone’s phishing area.

I have called 3 times notifying them that the no does not belong to a Hussein. They are very apologetic-but the calls still keep coming. I now ignore but it is highly annoying

Basically they re a fishing company, poorly-paid scammers doing blanket cold calling asking "have you had an accident in past 3 years" (citing they have bogus "information at hand") until, inevitably, someone says "yes". Cue then a selling job about how they can claim compo for you (for a % price). Not a scam; just a sad reflection of compensation culture and call-centre mentality. Hang up immediately; or if you want to be arsey, engage person in pointless conversation (though it isn t really his/her fault)

I went along with it as far as first and last name, once they asked for my address i said you are Sky you should know this already so I hung up. If it is genuine then i dont think they went about it the right way. If they are not, then i am happy i hung up.
