I have had three calls last one from a 02031295034 number, thank goodness for this site. I am a widow but very IT literate so knew it was a scam HMRC would write to you not leave a message by somebody with a foreign accent
This number is from Halifax/Lloyds banking group fraud team. They can stop your card and refund if anything has been taken. I am sure this number is ok. It did start out automated - which made me wary but you get through to a person quickly afterwards. They ran over the acts from law, didnt ask for any pin information and were polite and what youd expect from a bank team. Actually nice to have a bank being proactive in preventing your money being taken.

Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. Launched straight into spiel regarding the benefits of releasing the equity in my pension. I stopped him by explaining i was already receiving my pension so how did he know i might be getting a pension & where had he got that information from? He rudely put the phone down on me. Obviously a scam.
