I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Re The failed bank payment, the bank itself stopped this money and when I spoke to my bank it was decided that the £149 seemed high for an anti viral program and there was a possibility of fraud. We have been charged by BT 7 times since January. I contacted BT in April, who insisted we made the calls. We don t know who this persons is, have never called them. Eventually they said they would take it up with Complaints. Nothing heard. Our latest BT bill shows two payments for this number - about to complain yet again. Is it significant that the calls are always 24p.

Seven calls in one day! Couldn t answer even if I wanted to due to being at work, but seven calls is a bit excessive!
Keep on ringing and when I pick up there is no answer on their end. Had about two calls in the space of two minutes and three in fifteen.
Called saying they understood I had been in a car accident not my fault......I said yes that is correct and I am now deceased. They hung up.

Very rude woman called. Initially all polite "I m calling from "Eco" - (something I could not hear) - "how are you today"? When I said suspicious of calls like this, she turned nasty - "you re not much of a man if you are scared of a cold call". Beware. Probably scammers.

Probably building to a scam, claimed to be BT a UK telephone provider investigating illegal activity on my internet, when I inquired as to who might be doing illegal things the caller suggested probably foreigners! The call was made at 7am in the morning to a private number, land line and one only known to family members.
