Foreign sounding guy purporting to be from BT Openreach. Told me he'd detected slow internet speed on my Broadband. Asked me various networky questions which I deflected. Eventually, he realised he was being taken for a ride and accused me or wasting his time (!) A tirade of abuse followed and he called me an a****le, m*****f*****r and a few other expletives. At this point I started laughing which made him even more abusive. I said I would report him to Ofcom as such language is illegal in UK phone network.

A spokesperson from BT us, “We’ll never call a customer to tell them their router or IP address has been compromised or ask for any personal information, including bank details unexpectedly and we’ll never call from an ‘unknown’ number.

TAXES / HMRC Received a call from 08002853110, claiming to be from Department of Work and Pensions, fraud detected regarding my National Insurance Number, which was being suspended ! I tried to contact DWP by phone, but, due to Covid, was told to go online @ gov.uk. Online - was told to phone DWP contact number. Gave up, and decided to call above number - NUMBER INVALID.
