Melville consultants visited my company saying they could appeal and reduce our business rates. The person who visited was Peter John. He said they could put in an appeal, no charge, but if appeal accepted then they would charge to complete the appeal and send in a surveyor. After researching it turns out anybody can put an appeal it takes a few minutes -the whole thing is a complete scam avoid at all costs. This number calls me almost everyday and I have never answered it. Will report this to commissioner. Gauging from the other comments on this site, this number ceased being reported since April, it seems to be active again.

received this call from CarphoneWarehouse about my upcoming upgrade. companies have obviously found a way of making their calls "appear" to be a local call when in fact they are a call centre. I am in York and the call appeared to be a York number but I asked the caller where they were calling from and they were based in Loughborough.
This number should be a landline from Exeter, probably some call center, same as 1392458685 reported here... Did someone answer this number? Don't want to call them back.
