I did not reach the phone before my machine kicked in but as soon as my message started the phone call was ended. I do not know anyone in this area but I do know that the scammers are now able to link on to UK landlines to fool you into thinking it is from a UK number. Yesterday I had a similar call from a number about 15 miles from home but when I picked it up there was the usual call centre pause. When I tried ringing back there was no reply.

And hung up without so much as an apology. Having invited himself into my home, I find the attitude to be extremely rude.

SCAM. Talktalk will never call you. don't tell the scammers anything. Police and Talktalk aware.
