Indian man with broken English calls to say that he is from BT. He never got a chance to say much else as I can smell scammers at 100yds. I hung up. Number blocked.
Scammer from a busy office - presumably an army of scammers, trying to lure unsuspecting victimes. "Sky" and "maintenence" confirmed the Scam for sure (& potential fraud). Asian accent - before checking, wondered if from overseas - could be London though. This number called asking about my banking with the royal bank of Scotland ( whom I don’t bank with ) a female with an English accent. When I questioned who she was they hung up.

Woman called and stated that she is from Alpine Services. She said that she was informed that I recently had a car accident and whether this was correct. I said "no" and hung up. Mind you, I don t even have a driver s license for UK and certainly no car.

Called our TPS registered number yesyerday trying to sell their accountancy services. The female caller became rude and agressive when told the number was TPS registered and I ended the call. Despite knowing the number was TPS registered she (or another woman) called again today. Clearly they have no respect for others.

Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.
