I received a call today from 01724142353, I didn't pick up. They didn't leave a message, sounds spam and don't want to call back.
Didn t recognise the number so didn t answer. Triggered my voice message but no message left. However, reported by voice message as 0161 486 2922, which is a recognised problem number on this site.
Called from opus. Claiming I owe a debt from 2008-2019 for Northumbrian water. Considering I was 18 and living at home at the time I explained this was untrue. I was then told it was from an address I lived in on 2015 but they dated it 2008? I was then called back to tell me it was for 3 different addresses, one of which I did not live in at any of the time stated??

Caller claimed to be from BT Openreach calling about poor internet speed - sounded like an Indian call centre. I was wary but we have been having poor speed so I carried on. They asked me to do a speed test on out internet using a site I have used before. They said the speed figures were very low. They wanted me to download software so they could connect to my PC which I didn't do. When I started to challenge them to prove who they were they hung up. I suspect this is a scam call.

This is a scam number. pretending to be from the HMRC stating that fraud has been committed under your name and that if you don't press 1 a warrant will be issued to arrest you. This is a scam do not press 1 or engage with them and absolutley do not share any of your bank details or make any payments.
